THE GREEN GAZUMBA first appeared in
1986 when counselor David Peling, dressed in a green costume, began to make unexpected
appearances throughout camp. Over the ensuing years the tail of the
Gazumba has been sought after by campers of every session. It may appear at any time, and when
it
does the chase is on. Until 1995, the capture and trophy of the tail
remained illusive; however, a plaque mounted on the wall of the craft house
bears the name of the first camper to do the unthinkable. The Green
Gazumba has been captured only once (by Richard Sibley).
It can be
done!
but will there ever be another.
