Beginning this year we are going to keep an online journal for anyone that has ever been a part of Camp Eagle Feather.  Please send us any memories or stories from camp that you would like to share so we can post them on our website.  We hope to hear from you

To make a journal entry send it in an email to bgb8@aol.com.

Had a cute story I wanted to share with you.  Our daughter, Jennie Catherine, attended camp for the first time this year.   After her first day, I asked her to tell me all about camp.  She told me about the green gazumbas which she was a little nervous about after we saw them on your website.

She told me that if someone caught the green gazumba, that they would become a religion.  I couldn't figure it out for a couple days and I kept asking her about it.  Couldn't figure out what a green gazumba and camp would have to do with religion.  Anyway, finally after a couple of days trying to figure out what she was trying to say, I realized that she was trying to tell me that if you caught the green gazumba, that you would become a 'legend', not a religion!!!

Your camp was great.  She absolutely loved it and cant wait to go back!!  She learned so much and so much enjoyed going every day.  The campfire was emotional for me.  I was so impressed with counselors and their love and attention for each and every child.  It was like she knew these counselors forever.  I couldn't believe how many friends she made and how many people from camp knew her personally.

Thanks so much again for a wonderful two weeks for my daughter.

Words uttered from my son Ryan as his head was hitting the pillow after his very first day of camp as a chipmunk.

"I had way to much fun today"

 He is now an eagle.

The summer of 2003 was a particularly hot and humid one.  One night a friend asked Meeko if it was difficult being outside all day in the terrible heat.  Her reply was "Some camps might be too hot, but we have too much fun to notice if it's too hot!"

The first time I had an encounter with the green gazumba was when I was a chipmunk. I was at junior archery with all the kids when my counselor said "who wants to visit the pond?"  It was within the first week so I was like OK! so I was looking at a frog when I felt like someone was staring at me I turned around and saw this big green thing so being six I screamed and ran the other way...at lunch I was told I had to run after it.

When I first went to camp, any day when I didn't punch a kid was a good day. I wanted to be a wrestler. Through the years, I have matured greatly, and I love the camp. After 8 years, I still love going there. I have gone to every session since the third quarter of 1998. During that time, I have learned to be a better kid to others, and to be a good friend to all. Now, as the winter comes, I miss camp more than ever. I miss my friends, my counselors, and most of all, just being there. Now, instead of wanting to be a wrestler, I want to be a musician, or even a teacher. But even though I matured, I never got tired of Camp.

Dear Camp,.. I was on your website looking at the journal entries thinking if there were any memorable events that stuck out in my mind during my 9 years at camp.  After a while of not being able to think of any at all I realized something. During my time at camp I hadn't had just one thing that stuck out in my mind there was no single thing that happened making my times memorable. I realized that every day, every session, and every summer at camp was a memorable experience for me and its impossible to pick just one. Camp has been great and holds a special place in my childhood. I will always remember camp and the great people that worked so hard to make it fun for every one who attended..

Sincerely,
